North Carolina Newspaper Again Names Dana Simpson a "Top Lobbyist" in N.C.

The North State Journal has named Smith Anderson attorney Dana Simpson to its 2021 list of the Top 10 Lobbyists in North Carolina. 

In creating its ranking of the Top 10 Lobbyists, the North State Journal staff surveyed legislators, staffers, reporters and business leaders and parsed data on the clients represented by the over 750 registered lobbyists at the General Assembly in 2021. 

For more than a decade, Dana has been rated one of the most influential lobbyists in North Carolina by both the nonpartisan N.C. Center for Public Policy Research and the North State Journal. In its rankings this year, the North State Journal noted that "Simpson has long been considered one of the top lobbyists" in North Carolina.

Dana co-chairs the Government Relations practice at Smith Anderson and regularly represents clients before the North Carolina General Assembly and state agencies. He advises clients regarding legislative and regulatory advocacy, public relations, issues management, economic development initiatives, ethics and campaign finance law compliance.

The North State Journal is the only statewide newspaper in North Carolina and was founded in 2016. The North Carolina Press Association awarded the newspaper a first-place General Excellence citation for print and online newspapers in 2019.
