Summer Program & OCI
Each summer, Smith Anderson looks forward to welcoming associates into our firm to experience first hand the people and the work environment that sets us apart from other law firms. Our goals throughout the summer program include offering practical experience through challenging work assignments and participating in out-of-office events, as well as numerous fun and engaging opportunities to meet and get to know our attorneys and our community.
Summer associates are partnered with a Summer Advisor to ensure each receive sound mentorship and guidance and are well-acquainted with different areas of law at our firm. An Assignment Coordinator will help manage workflow and see that projects assigned are in areas of law of interest to our summer associates. Our Opportunities Coordinator helps manage summer associate participation in a variety of out-of-office events, including observing depositions, trials, closings, client meetings and negotiations, among others.
At Smith Anderson, we make the extra effort to get to know our summer associates, and our lawyers truly welcome and look forward to participating in the opportunities provided through various “informal” meetups. We coordinate lunches, dinners, parties at local restaurants, impromptu social gatherings, as well as sporting and cultural events, all with the intention to get to know one another on a more personal level.
If you are interested in applying for a summer associate position and you are unable to meet us at one of the schools or events, please visit our current openings.
