Zachary P. Ward

Zach Ward is an attorney with Smith Anderson’s Corporate and Transactional team with a focus on mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Smith Anderson, Zach worked for a large international law firm in Dallas, Texas, where he represented private equity funds and their various platform companies in numerous domestic and international acquisitions and divestitures. In addition, Zach also has experience representing independent sponsors and family offices of all sizes in strategic growth transactions.

In his free time, Zach is an endurance cycling and running enthusiast and has completed multiple 100+ mile road races and several marathons. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashlee, daughter, Kylee and son, Brayden, all of whom enjoy exploring local parks with their dog, Rameses (of UNC mascot fame).

• Represented leading provider of consulting and expert witness services on multiple strategic acquisitions.

• Advised a family-owned manufacturer of fuel and oil products for the automotive industry on its acquisition of a specialty manufacturer of diesel lubrications.
• Advised growth-equity firm and its portfolio company of ABA outpatient therapy clinics serving youth with special needs in its sale to private equity fund specializing in providing personalized outpatient therapy.
• Advised a private equity fund in its sale of a private automobile auction platform.
