Overview
Michelle Doran, as Smith Anderson’s chief operating officer, works with the firm’s Management Committee to advance the firm’s strategic goals and growth initiatives. She is responsible for overall strategic operational direction, finance, human resources, innovation, technology and plays a critical role in implementing the firm’s strategic plan.
Michelle brings over 25 years of executive leadership and business strategy experience from various regional and international law firms. Her distinguished track record includes the New York office of an AmLaw 100 international firm where she led operations for eight regional offices around the world. Most recently she served as COO of a Northeastern regional law firm with 5 offices from Boston to NY and facilitated a strategic merger.
Known for her energetic leadership, her goals are operational excellence while enhancing client service and profitability. With a focus on leveraging technology, talent and best practices, Michelle works to enhance revenue, financial management and firm culture. Establishing authentic relationships, she mentors senior management and navigates Smith Anderson’s matrixed, culturally diverse organization through team-based performance and EQ.
Michelle enjoys time with her family (including her two rescue dogs), reading, health and wellness activities and frequenting the gym. Michelle is proud to be part of an all-female C-suite team, and her motto is Carpe Diem!
