Dana Simpson Named a Top Lobbyist in North Carolina, Again!

The North State Journal (NSJ) has again named Smith Anderson attorney Dana Simpson one of North Carolina’s Top 10 lobbyists for 2024. NSJ has rated Dana as one of the top lobbyists in North Carolina every year since it first began publishing rankings. 

Members of the North Carolina House and Senate were polled to determine the scope, scale and success of the state’s lobbyists in influencing legislation. More than 750 individuals served as registered lobbyists or legislative liaisons during the North Carolina General Assembly’s (NCGA) last legislative session.

Dana heads Smith Anderson’s Regulatory team and he co-chairs our Government Relations practice, regularly representing clients before the General Assembly and state agencies. For over two decades, Dana has advised North Carolina businesses, healthcare providers, trade associations and nonprofits regarding legislative and regulatory advocacy, strategic issues management, economic development projects, state ethics laws and campaign finance compliance. Dana has been consistently rated one of the most influential lobbyists in North Carolina by both the nonpartisan N.C. Center for Public Policy Research, which named him the state’s top lobbyist, and NSJ. His recognitions also include being named to The Best Lawyers in America® in Government Relations (2009-2024) and Administrative/Regulatory Law (2022-2024).
