Benji Jones Serves as Mentor at The Business Journal’s Nationwide Mentoring Monday Event
Women business leaders from across the nation, including Smith Anderson corporate attorney Benji Jones, served as mentors at The Business Journal’s nationwide Mentoring Monday event on February 24. Designed to empower women in the workforce, the annual event connects emerging professionals with experienced women leaders for guidance, support to overcome career challenges and professional development. The Triangle Business Journal hosted its local event at the TowneBank Center in Raleigh.
Drawing from her experience in building a law practice and the guidance she received from her own mentor, Jim Verdonik, Benji shared insights on career development, professional confidence and the importance of mentorship.
“Do not sell yourself short; you are worth the same (and more) than others in the marketplace,” Benji said. “Act with courage and confidence. If things are not working for you, trade up.”
Benji encourages professionals to approach career growth with a mindset of gratitude, self-awareness and collaboration. She emphasizes the importance of sharing experiences with colleagues and clients, being kind to oneself and maintaining perspective in professional decision-making.
With a career spanning corporate law, securities regulation and venture capital, Benji brings a wealth of experience to mentoring, helping professionals navigate challenges and seize opportunities in their careers. She was also recently honored as a Women in Business award recipient by the Triangle Business Journal.
