Susan Hargrove Selected to Participate on a Career Panel Held during Duke University's "Career Week"
Smith Anderson partner, Susan Hargrove, was selected to participate on a career panel during a recent Duke University "Career Week."
Duke University hosts its "Career Week" each year to provide students with access to career information from alumni from around the country engaged in a wide variety of businesses and endeavors. The week includes career discussions, mentoring dinners and other events culminating in a full day of workshops and networking opportunities. Duke intends the week to prepare participants to address career issues; help participants explore the possibilities for life after Duke; and connect participants with professionals who can help them succeed in all aspects of their career.
A graduate of Duke University (A.B.), Ms. Hargrove returned to her alma mater to participate in the panel discussion on "Law Firms and Corporate Law." The interactive session offered attendees an overview of the real-life practical components of a career in law.
A litigator, Ms. Hargrove has significant experience in all facets of this practice with specific emphasis on commercial and health care litigation. Her experience includes representation of companies and health care clients in contract litigation, scope of practice litigation, managed care contract disputes, business tort litigation and regulatory proceedings, including Certificate of Need matters. She also represents clients in employment litigation, including breach of contract, covenants not to compete, wage and hour litigation, and physician recruitment agreements. Her diverse clients range from solo practitioners to large companies.
Ms. Hargrove received a J.D. with high honors from the University of North Carolina, where she served as a staff member of the North Carolina Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
