Smith Anderson’s Employment Group Presented 16th Annual Employment Law Update Seminar
For the 16th consecutive year, Smith Anderson’s Employment group hosted its annual Employment Law Update seminar. This year’s full day program was held at the North Carolina Bar Center on Thursday, September 25th and repeated on Tuesday, October 14th.
“This past year was a particularly dynamic one in the area of employment and labor law and brought more significant legal developments than we have seen in some time. Our program covered key developments, including recently enacted federal legislation that will have a significant impact on the workplaces for our clients,” said Rose Kenyon, a partner in Smith Anderson’s Employment Law group, who planned this year’s event. This popular program was filled-to-capacity on both days, and was attended by over 300 human resources and related professionals.
The update sessions included several presentations by our firm’s lawyers, an excerpt from a mock trial of a fictitious employment law claim, and a presentation by an outside speaker on timely issues related to immigration reform. The employment group was recently recognized for the fourth consecutive year as one of the leading employment practices in North Carolina by Chambers USA America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.
