Smith Anderson Welcomes New Lawyers

Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan, LLP (Smith Anderson) is pleased to announce the addition of the following lawyers to the Firm:

Armand A. Perry joined Smith Anderson after practicing corporate law for seven years with White & Case in New York City. A Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, Armand received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1999 where he served as Editor of the Columbia Law Review. He received an M.A. with honors from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and an A.B. from Princeton University. He focuses his practice on Banking, Capital Markets, Commercial Transactions and Mergers and Acquisitions.

Andrew B. Fisher joined Smith Anderson after practicing corporate law at Cole, Schotz, Meisel, Forman & Leonard in the New York City area. His experience includes representing early stage and emerging companies on all facets of Corporate law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Real Estate and Mezzanine Financing. Andrew received his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and his A.B. from Princeton University.

Sarah Carrington Walker Baker graduated from Duke Law School in 2006 with honors where she served as Staff Editor and Note Editor of the Duke Law Journal. She received her B.A. from the University of Virginia. She joins Smith Anderson's Commercial Litigation and Employment practices after completing a clerkship with Judge Allyson K. Duncan, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Jason R. Brege graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2006 after graduating magna cum laude with a B.A. from Vanderbilt University. He was an editorial board member of the Virginia Law Review. He joined Smith Anderson after completing a clerkship for the Honorable Douglas O. Tice, Jr., Chief Judge, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He will practice Corporate, Commercial Transactions, and Bankruptcy law.

Andrea Bookman Short graduated with highest honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2006 where she was Executive Comments Editor for the North Carolina Law Review. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University. She joins Smith Anderson after completing a clerkship with Judge Allyson K. Duncan, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She will focus her practice on Corporate and Commercial Transactions.

D. Blake Simpson graduated with high honors from the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Law in 2007 and also received her B.A. from UNC. She will practice Corporate and Intellectual Property law.
