Smith Anderson Welcomes Joseph Dickinson as the Leader of its Data Use, Privacy and Security Group
Smith Anderson announced that Joseph Dickinson has joined the firm as a Partner in the Technology Practice. A seasoned senior advisor and counselor with more than 25 years of experience, Joe will lead Smith Anderson’s Data Use, Privacy and Security Group.
Joe is Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC®) and his extensive experience includes helping clients to identify their risks and to design, implement and manage data privacy and security programs for their business, as well as advise on HIPAA compliance, data breaches and governmental privacy-related investigations, technology licensing and transfer, contracts involving data flows and managing the related legal risks and obligations, intellectual property and information technology, and conducting internal investigations related to corporate compliance.

Joe comes to Smith Anderson from Tucker Ellis, LLP in Cleveland, OH and prior to that from The MetroHealth System where he served as Privacy and Chief Information Security Officer/Counsel – Office of General Counsel.
