Smith Anderson Welcomes Four Lawyers to the Firm Partnership
Raleigh, NC (January 20, 2011) - Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan, L.L.P. is pleased to announce the election of the following lawyers to the Firm's partnership, effective January 1, 2011. Collectively, the new partners include lawyers who have practiced exclusively in North Carolina as well as in major metropolitan areas outside of North Carolina; and lawyers with a wide range of transaction, litigation and counseling experience. This continues Smith Anderson's focus and tradition of attracting and retaining lawyers with diverse backgrounds and experience to serve the needs of Firm clients.
Alicia Gilleskie, a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, focuses her practice on Information Privacy and Security and Intellectual Property matters. Ms. Gilleskie joined Smith Anderson in 2008 from a 500-lawyer firm where she concentrated her practice in technology law and information privacy. Previously, she served five years as Corporate Counsel and HIPAA Compliance Officer for Misys Healthcare Systems and Corporate Counsel with Laboratory Corporation of America Holding (LabCorp).
Christopher Kiger focuses his practice on Product Liability, Commercial Litigation, Contract Disputes and Environmental Health and Safety matters. He has significant experience representing manufacturers and other corporate clients in both state and federal courts, as well as in multi-district litigation. Mr. Kiger joined Smith Anderson in 2002 after graduating from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Prior to law school, Mr. Kiger played professional basketball in the United States Basketball League.
Bart Norman joined Smith Anderson in 2002 and focuses his practice on Banking and Finance, Capital Markets, Commercial Transactions and Mergers and Acquisitions. He has broad experience in the corporate and finance activities of public and private companies in the pharmaceutical, distribution, technology, energy and banking industries. Mr. Norman graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
Armand Perry practices corporate law with a focus on debt finance, mergers and acquisitions, and complex commercial transactions. A graduate of Columbia Law School, he joined Smith Anderson in 2007 after practicing with White & Case in New York and Paris. Prior to entering law practice, Mr. Perry was employed at the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava, Slovakia, and clerked with Lee & Ko Law Offices in Seoul, Korea.
