Smith Anderson Teams Up with Non-Profit to Support Local First Responders

Smith Anderson lawyers and staff teamed up with a local non-profit, Activate Good, in an effort to show the firm’s appreciation for local first responders. Together, Smith Anderson Partners, Associates, Paralegals and staff participated in a firm-wide service project assembling first responder care packages that will be distributed throughout Wake County.

The care packages included granola bars, mints, personal care items (chap stick, wet wipes), coffee, tea, and a booklet of brain teasers to kill time before the next emergency. This initiative was sponsored by the Smith Anderson Community Fund Committee. The Committee will deliver the care packages to the Raleigh Fire Department’s central station, where Activate Good will then help with the distribution throughout Wake County.

The Smith Anderson Community Fund provides financial support to a number of Research Triangle area organizations serving basic human needs. Members of the  Committee, include Rose Kenyon, Lorie Beam, Bea Platt, Kim Swintosky, Don Tucker, Brian Meacham, Blake Fricks and James Jolley.

Activate Good works as a "force multiplier" for local causes with volunteer needs. Through their outreach efforts and online volunteer community, they help recruit and connect individuals, groups, and companies to fulfill volunteer needs with partnering nonprofits in Raleigh and the Greater Triangle.
