Smith Anderson Sponsors 4th Annual Women > A Force in Business Conference Attracting 1000+ Attendees

Twenty Smith Anderson attorneys, directors and staff members joined over 1000 attendees at the 2019 North Carolina Chamber Women > A Force in Business conference held yesterday at the Raleigh Convention Center. This year’s event was the largest conference yet and Smith Anderson was proud to sponsor the conference and its networking reception.  

According to the Chamber, this one-day conference promotes leadership development, advocacy, mentorship and personal wellness for women in the workplace, as well as their male peers.

In addition to the firm’s sponsorship, Caryn McNeill, head of Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation, served as a panelist on the “Bring Yourself Joy: Balancing Ambition, Fulfilment and Tranquility as a Working Woman” panel.

The firm has partnered with the Women > A Force in Business conference each year since its inception in 2016 and Real Estate Development partner Sharita Whitaker has served on the conference’s planning committee for the past two years.

Promoting diversity and inclusion within the firm and the broader community is a priority for Smith Anderson. The firm’s Diversity Committee focuses on such issues as the recruitment, retention and advancement of diverse lawyers and working to maintain an environment in which differences are valued.
