Smith Anderson Lawyers Support Local Arts Community
Chris Capel and Lee Kirby are working with local organizations to advance the arts in the Triangle.
Chris Capel, a partner with Smith Anderson, is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Artspace. He works with other board members to determine and monitor the mission, purpose and services of Artspace.
Artspace is a private, non-profit visual art center dedicated to presenting quality exhibitions and educational programs within an open-studio environment. Educating the public about art and artists is at the core of the Artspace mission. For this reason, Artspace is an important partner in the region's educational system.
Lee Kirby, also a partner with Smith Anderson, is Vice-President of the Board of Directors for Artsplosure.
Artsplosure's mission is to produce high quality annual festivals that celebrate excellence in the performing and visual arts; to promote and bring recognition to national, regional, and local artists; and to bring artists and the larger community together to improve the quality of life and cultural environment.
Service to Artspace and Artsplosure is part of Smith Anderson’s commitment to helping the community in which we live and work. Smith Anderson has been devoted to serving the community since its founding in 1912. Our lawyers and staff serve the public good in a variety of ways, from serving on non-profit boards, to building Habitat for Humanity houses, to donating to the North Carolina Food Bank.
