Smith Anderson Hosts Triangle Chapter of the British-American Business Council
RALEIGH, N.C. – Smith Anderson, the largest law firm in the Research Triangle, hosted a meeting of the Triangle Chapter of the British-American Business Council (BABC) on Nov. 27, 2012. Firm partners Susan Hargrove and Margaret Rosenfeld presented “The Great Cultural Divide: How Other Countries’ Laws Affect International Business Partnerships.”
In their discussion, Ms. Hargrove and Ms. Rosenfeld discussed many of the cross-cultural standards and subtle nuances of conducting business in other countries. They explained the differences in how business law is applied globally and where to look for hidden assumptions in an international business partner’s proposal or draft documents.
