Smith Anderson Hires New Director of Strategic Communications and Government Relations

(Raleigh, N.C.) Smith Anderson announces the hiring of Chandler Spaulding, who will serve as the firm’s Director of Strategic Communications and Government Relations. The Government Relations team is made up of an experienced, bipartisan team of lawyers and consulting professionals who advocate on behalf of Smith Anderson’s clients on a broad array of legislative, regulatory and legal issues. The team’s breadth of experience and strong relationships to effectively reach policymakers extends throughout North Carolina’s state government and in many cities and counties.

Prior to joining Smith Anderson, Chandler worked in a variety of public policy and communications roles, including with the North Carolina General Assembly, Duke University, the White House Office of Communications and NBC Entertainment. Chandler will help Smith Anderson clients in advancing their policy goals, as well as developing strategic communications plans, managing crisis communications and organizing press conferences, media availabilities and public events.
