Smith Anderson Attorney Appointed Vice Chair of ABA Intellectual Property Section’s Trademark Litigation Committee

Smith Anderson attorney Phil Cardinale has been appointed Vice Chair of the Trademark Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law (ABA-IPL) for 2019-2020, effective September 1, 2019. He was also reappointed for the coming year as a Liaison to the World Intellectual Property Organization on copyright matters from the ABA-IPL.  

The ABA is the largest voluntary professional association in the world, and the ABA-IPL, founded in 1894, is the world’s largest intellectual property organization and the oldest substantive section of the ABA. The ABA-IPL is an influential voice of the IP bar and advances the development and improvement of intellectual property laws and their fair and just administration. 

Phil advises technology-centric companies in all phases of growth on the management, development, commercialization and protection of their intellectual property and technology assets and assists on licensing and other strategic transactions, as well as with issues relating to privacy and data security. He also has broad experience in intellectual property rights acquisition, litigation and counseling in matters focusing on trademark, trade dress, copyright, privacy/publicity rights, e-commerce, social media and design law, as well as transactions involving these rights.
