Robert Rehm Selected to Serve on Board of Directors of StepUp Ministry
Raleigh, N.C. – Smith Anderson Partner Robert Rehm has been selected to serve on the Board of Directors of StepUp Ministry, effective July 1. StepUp Ministry is a nonprofit corporation headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, that partners with adults and children in the shared goal of stable lives through jobs and life skills training.
Along with a number of other attorneys at Smith Anderson, Robert has assisted StepUp Ministry in the past on a pro bono basis in connection with various legal matters. The Firm received StepUp Ministry’s Corporate Volunteer Award for 2011 in recognition for demonstrating “teamwork, collaboration, commitment and creativity in efforts to achieve the goals of StepUp Ministry and its programs.”
Rehm practices primarily in the areas of technology licensing and commercialization, and the acquisition, licensing and protection of intellectual property rights with a focus on information-technology-related transactions. His experience includes drafting and negotiating a wide variety of license, assignment, confidentiality, joint-venture, alliance and other types of collaborative agreements directed to technology commercialization. He is also active in the prosecution and defense of trademark registration applications and related appeals and opposition proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and World Intellectual Property Organization, and copyright registration applications before the United States Copyright Office.
