R. Donavon Munford, Jr. Selected to Present Before the Financial Planning Association of the Triangle
Smith Anderson partner, R. Donavon (Don) Munford, Jr. recently provided an interactive presentation on "Living Trusts: Advantages and Disadvantages" at a meeting of the Financial Planning Association of the Triangle.
The Financial Planning Association of the Triangle, a chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), provides financial planning professionals with access to the very best networking and educational opportunities. Mr. Munford practices in the areas of corporate and business law, estate planning and asset protection planning. With over 25 years of experience, Mr. Munford advises companies and professional corporations on legal matters that arise from business operations. He regularly advises individuals on estate and asset protection planning matters, including implementing estate tax savings techniques, charitable planned giving opportunities and offshore entities. A licensed Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Munford worked with the tax department of KPMG Peat Marwick prior to practicing law.
In 2002, Mr. Munford was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives where his service included Chair of the Judiciary Committee.
