Merrill Mason Selected to Moderate a CED Biotech Forum Panel
The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) selected Merrill Mason, a partner with Triangle-based law firm Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan, LLP to moderate its Biotech Forum entitled Challenges Faced By Scientific Founders. CED hosted the Forum on Monday, April 17th from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.
Speakers at the Forum included Jeff Clark, Managing General Partner, The Aurora Funds, Inc.; Michael P. Murphy, President & CEO, Gentris Corporation; and Cedric Pearce, CEO, Mycosynthetix Inc. Topics discussed included how to:
* launch a company;
* write a business plan, seek out seed funding and present a plan to Venture Capital and Angel investors; and
* turn a scientific finding into a viable business.
