Merrill Mason Presents on the Legal Considerations for Start-Up Businesses

RALEIGH, N.C. – On March 26, 2013, Merrill Mason, the head of Smith Anderson’s Start-Ups practice, delivered a presentation entitled “Legal Issues for Start-Ups” to engineering, business and design graduate and undergraduate students from both the University of North Carolina and North Carolina State University.

As part of his presentation, Merrill identified the legal issues that start-up businesses encounter and offered practice advice for navigating those issues. In addition, Merrill explained the role of the corporate lawyer and start-up formation, including choice of entity and the process of incorporation, among other topics.
