Matt Martin Quoted in North Carolina Lawyers Weekly Regarding $500,000 Judgment

RALEIGH, N.C. – Matt Martin, an attorney in Smith Anderson’s commercial litigation, construction and real estate practice groups, was quoted in a story published in North Carolina Lawyers Weekly entitled “Airplane Thief Hit with $500K Judgment.”

Matt Martin and Michael Mitchell represented United States Aviation Underwriters who issued an insurance policy on an airplane that was later stolen and crashed. Mr. Martin and Mr. Mitchell were seeking to recover amounts paid on the policy from the person who stole and crashed the plane. The article appeared in the Sept. 24th issue and shared the details of the civil suit that resulted in a $503,000 judgment in favor of the Firm’s client.
