Martin Lancaster and Matt Martin Present to Defense Industry Businesses at North Carolina Federal IT Symposium
Raleigh, NC (June 26, 2010) - Smith Anderson lawyers Martin Lancaster and Matt Martin presented a seminar on the topic of federal contracting and so-called “teaming agreements” at the North Carolina Federal IT Symposium sponsored by the North Carolina Military Business Center at The Friday Center for Continuing Education in Chapel Hill on Thursday, June 17, 2010. Co-sponsors of the event included SAS, Oak Grove Technologies, Strategic Consulting Solutions, Inc., the US Department of Veterans Affairs, and the NC Defense Business Association.
Their presentation, “Teaming Agreements for Federal Contract Performance: Creating and Preserving Opportunities for Small Business Concerns,” explored the regulatory framework for teaming arrangements and provided practical wisdom for small businesses in the defense industry. Mr. Lancaster, former Congressman and President of the NC Community College System, is Of Counsel with Smith Anderson, where he advises clients on contracting with the government and economic development. Mr. Martin practices in the areas of commercial litigation and construction, regularly advising clients on government construction projects.
The symposium provided information to North Carolina businesses about federal technology (IT) opportunities, federal contracting processes for IT goods and services, and subcontracting opportunities providing IT services to the Department of Defense and other federal agencies.
