Kim Swintosky and Andrew Fisher Present to the Wake County Bar Association
RALEIGH, N.C. – On January 16th, Smith Anderson partner Kim Swintosky and associate Andrew Fisher presented a seminar on the basics of business law to members of the Wake County Bar Association.
Kim and Andrew discussed the legal practicalities of setting up a new business concern, including selecting the appropriate form of entity, addressing key tax issues, protecting intellectual property, and appropriately structuring founders’ ownership.
About Kim Swintosky
Kim regularly advises privately-owned businesses and their owners with respect to business and personal tax and legal needs. She assists business clients with respect to tax planning, business strategy, internal governance and contracting, as well as corporate finance, liquidity event and acquisition transaction structuring and negotiation. Kim has significant experience with pass-through tax entities. She regularly advises S corporations, limited liability companies, including pass-through private equity funds and portfolio companies, with respect to a wide-range of tax and business law matters, including formation, capitalization, interest transfers and redemptions, mergers, acquisitions and asset sales transactions, owner withdrawal transactions liquidation, and dissolution.
