Kim Swintosky Elected to the North Carolina Ballet’s Board of Directors
Smith Anderson lawyer, Kim Swintosky, was recently elected to the North Carolina Ballet’s Board of Directors. An avid supporter of the arts, she will serve a 3-year term.
Ms. Swintosky represents a variety of clients in the areas of corporate and business law, tax law, and estate planning focusing on private flow-through companies and their owners. In addition to her estate planning practice where she works with individual clients on complex matters, she often represents privately-owned businesses on tax and business matters arising in connection with their formation, operation, combination and dissolution. Her practice includes providing business and tax advice related to choice of entity matters, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions and buy-sell arrangements. She also advises tax-exempt entities, including public charities and private foundations on corporate law and tax matters.
A licensed Certified Public Accountant, Ms. Swintosky worked in the tax division of Arthur Andersen, LLP before becoming a lawyer. In addition to working with the North Carolina Ballet, her significant community activities include working with Legal Aid of North Carolina and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake County.
