Kim Korando Speaks on Employment Law and Personal Device Use

Raleigh, N.C. – Smith Anderson partner Kim Korando presented “Employee Personal Devices:  Employer Monitoring and Access Rights and Limitations” at the North Carolina Bar Association’s Hot Topics in Technology and the Law program held on February 27, 2015. Kim discussed the legal issues arising from employers’ increasing practice of allowing or requiring employees to use personally-owned smartphones, tablets and other devices to conduct their work and offered practical ways for employers to address both their individual and their employees’ concerns relating to monitoring and access rights. The presentation featured best practices in developing policies and user agreements to maximize employers’ rights and minimize potential liability.
