Kenyon Inducted in the YWCA Academy of Women
Rosemary Gill Kenyon, a partner with Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan, LLP, was inducted into the YWCA Academy of Women at the YWCA of the Greater Triangle’s 22nd annual awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 9, 2004.
The Academy is an honorary society formed in 1983 comprised of women who have demonstrated a commitment to the YWCA mission of empowering women and eliminating racism. The YWCA Academy of Women honors one outstanding woman annually from eleven categories that include Arts & Entertainment, Business, Community Service, Education, Entrepreneur, Exercise & Sports Science, Government, Human Services, Professions, Science & Technology, and Teen Woman. Kenyon was honored in the area of Professions.
In addition to Kenyon’s contributions, Smith Anderson has been a long-time supporter of the YWCA, including participating as a sponsor of this annual event.
In addition to recognizing outstanding women in our community, the YWCA Academy of Women event also raises public awareness and funding to enable the YWCA to be a safe place for kids after school, a fun place for summer camp, a great place to get fit, a supportive place for women in transition, an inviting place that encourages dialogue on race and ethnic relations, and an enriching place for seniors.
