Geoff Krouse Participates on What to Expect From a Duke Law Diploma Panel at Duke Law School’s Third Annual Family Weekend

, participated on a career panel during Duke Law School’s third annual Family Weekend. Co-sponsored by the Duke Bar Association and the Public Interest Law Foundation, Duke Law School’s Family Weekend invites parents and students to campus to learn more about life as a Duke Law student and graduate.
The panel, What to Expect From a Duke Law Diploma, was moderated by Bruce Elvin, the director of the Career and Professional Development Center at Duke Law School, and featured other Duke Law School alumni who work in such prestigious legal roles as Assistant District Attorney and Assistant United States Attorney. The primary purpose of the panel was to educate Duke Law students and families as to the variety of options available to them upon graduation, to explain how the employment and hiring process works, and to provide insight into different possible career paths. Mr. Krouse spoke about his 10 years of law firm experience as a corporate practitioner at both Vinson & Elkins in New York City and Smith Anderson in Raleigh, described his transactional experience and advised the audience on how he achieved his current position as a partner at Smith Anderson.
Mr. Krouse’s practice includes representing public and private buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions and recapitalization transactions, representing issuers and underwriters in public offerings and private placements of securities, and assisting companies with other corporate and compliance matters. Mr. Krouse has experience working with a variety of clients including public and private companies, investment banks and private equity firms in various industries including pharmaceutical services, technology, paper, oil & gas and other natural resources, among others.
