Francis Bagbey Named Chair of the Development Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association Foundation
Raleigh, NC (June 30, 2011) – Francis Bagbey, a partner in Smith Anderson’s commercial real estate practice area, has been appointed Chair of the Development Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) Foundation. In this position, Mr. Bagbey leads the Patron Campaign supporting the pro bono and public service projects of the Foundation.
The Development Committee provides volunteer leadership for fundraising activities under the auspices of the Foundation. These include fundraising through the annual Patron Campaign; growing the Foundation's Endowment through the establishment of Justice Funds, Liberty Funds and other named funds; educating NCBA members about planned giving opportunities and the Platt D. Walker Society; and executing special projects assigned by the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Bagbey’s law practice covers leasing, financing, buying, and selling of real property. He has represented landlords and tenants, banks and mortgage companies, and real estate developers. He has also represented out-of-state institutional investors as special North Carolina counsel in connection with purchases and financing of real estate in North Carolina.
