Chris Smith Presented with DRI Award for Exceptional Performance
Raleigh, N.C. – At the 36th Annual Meeting of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys (NCADA) held on Hilton Head Island in June, Smith Anderson partner Christopher G. Smith was presented with the Defense Research Institute’s (DRI) nationwide award for Exceptional Performance. The annual DRI award recognizes the State Defense Association President who makes a significant contribution to the improvement of the administration of justice in the public interest. Chris completed his term as NCADA President at the organization’s Annual Meeting and now is Immediate Past President.
Earlier, Chris also accepted the DRI nationwide award for Diversity and Inclusion on behalf of the NCADA at the DRI Annual Meeting in New Orleans. The NCADA received the award for its diversity programming and efforts of which Chris was actively involved during his tenure as an Association officer.
Chris is a trial and appellate lawyer who counsels clients on business strategy matters. He manages large multi-party and multi-jurisdiction litigation projects and mission-critical projects for clients. As president of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, Chris helped lead NCADA in its mission to bring together civil trial attorneys to promote the exchange of information, ideas, and litigation techniques, and to strengthen the practice, improve the skills, and enhance the knowledge of lawyers defending individuals and businesses in North Carolina.
