Bo Bobbitt Featured in American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) Publication on Physician Involvement in ACOs

RALEIGH, N.C. – Smith Anderson Partner, Julian D. “Bo” Bobbitt Jr., recently authored an article in the June 2012 edition of The Physician Organizations Practice Group, a publication of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). The article is entitled Physician Involvement in ACOs: An Overview and Real-World Examples. Mr. Bobbitt identifies key legal issues affecting accountable care organizations (ACOs), eight essential elements of an ACO and real world examples to understand the concept and cultural changes of ACOs. His analysis of having a general understanding of ACOs assists legal counsel in guiding their clients successfully with their healthcare concerns.

The Physician Organizations Practice Group addresses issues encountered in physician-hospital joint ventures and contractual arrangements, credentialing practices, physician group practice structures, compensation methodologies, and the current professional liability insurance crisis.
