Benchmark Litigation Honors 14 Smith Anderson Attorneys
Benchmark Litigation, “the definitive guide to America’s leading litigation firms and attorneys,” has recognized 14 of our litigators and employment litigators in the 2021 edition.
Both Smith Anderson’s Litigation practice and Employment Litigation practice received a “Highly Recommended” rating for North Carolina, the highest possible rating. The publication also recognized ten of our lawyers as North Carolina “Litigation Stars,” four of our lawyers as North Carolina “Labor and Employment Stars,” and included Isaac Linnartz on the 40 & Under Hot List.
Smith Anderson was also honored earlier this year by Benchmark Litigation with the “North Carolina Firm of the Year” award presented at its annual U.S. Awards ceremony held in New York City.
The Benchmark Litigation list of 2021 North Carolina “Litigation Stars” and “Labor & Employment Stars” reflects only those individuals “who were recommended consistently as reputable and effective litigators by clients and peers.”
Congratulations to all the lawyers included.

Benchmark Litigation focuses exclusively on U.S. litigation. The publication’s results stem from the culmination of a six-month research period where its researchers conduct extensive interviews with litigators and their clients to identify the leading litigators and firms. During these interviews, researchers examine recent casework handled by law firms and ask individual litigators to offer their professional opinions on peers. Law firms cannot pay to be recommended for the guide. Recommendations are based on interviews with private practice lawyers and in-house counsel.
