Understanding When and How an Employer May Obtain Health Information Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act and Other Laws
Many employers are fearful of asking employees for health information in light of the web of laws that affect health and privacy in the workplace. There is a time and place for proper medical inquiries, and knowing when and how to ask for this information is critical to managing these issues under the complex framework of the ADA, the FMLA and other related laws. This session will provide a foundation for understanding the rights and restrictions employers have under these laws to request health information and offer practical tips to help employers effectively navigate these issues.
