WEBINAR - COVID-19 Civil Immunity Protections for Businesses
A live webinar presented by our Business Litigation practice group co-chair Christopher G. Smith with a special guest Ray Starling, General Counsel, NC Chamber.
On Thursday, July 2, 2020, the Governor signed into law House Bill 118, in which the General Assembly granted broad-sweeping civil immunity for all businesses from COVID-19 infection claims. This follow-on immunity law arose out of concern that the initial law passed to protect businesses during the reopening did not go far enough. This webinar discusses the scope of the immunity protection, who is entitled to it and when, and the requirement that businesses explain what protective measures they are taking to guard against transmission of the virus.
